Somebody to Listen

We live in a very masculine society. What I mean when I say that is this, there’s great value placed on thinking and doing and not so much on feeling and listening. Now, please understand, thinking and doing are both important and valuable aspects of each of us.

In order to bring balance to this masculine way of life we have been taught and now live, we need the feminine qualities of listening and feeling and being.

If you begin to look around and observe, everybody wants somebody to listen. Somebody who’ll stop what they have going and listen to them. Everybody needs this listening and feeling aspect of Life. When we add the understanding that we are the one we have been waiting for, then we can start to see that we need to stop what we are doing and give our attention to ourselves and listen and feel and be. So many people ask me, what do I do with these feelings? There’s only one answer, feel them and love them and allow them to be.

Everyday stop, or more often as you feel the need, find a quiet place and sit. No music or added sounds, and sit, eyes open or closed, in a way that’s comfortable for you.

Breathe, and let the breath bring you toward the now, where it lives.
Next, bring your attention around to your abdomen and feel what’s there.
Just feel it, if your attention goes to something else bring it back around to your feelings.
Look around and see what else you feel.
If the feeling is too intense get up and walk while you feel.
Allow your thoughts to flow without trying to control them and watch them and notice your feelings.
You might focus on your breath and allow everything else to go and listen to the silence.
But most importantly know that this is your time with yourself, find ways to allow what you feel to be ok and what you think to be ok, don’t struggle. If you get stuck write in your personal journal, but don’t read anything, not when you are listening to yourself.

How long do you sit? 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20, an hour and a half, let yourself decide. As you give yourself your attention, you’ll begin to notice the desire to stop and listen and feel more and more. That quiet place will call you.

Stopping all doing and getting still in the quiet allows us an opening.

The balance of the masculine and feminine, which is what listening and feeling allows, will bring new understandings, self-love, joy and harmony.

There’s just something about giving yourself your attention that puts things in a more peaceful knowing perspective and ultimately will bring that which is desired.
